Access & Borrowing

Joining & Borrowing

The library serves members of the Perth Branch — with clear and straightforward borrowing arrangements.

Joining the Library

Members of the Perth Branch of the Theosophical Society are automatically members of the library and do not need to subscribe separately.

Members may borrow up to three items at a time. Library membership is not available to the general public, though visitors are welcome to use the reading room and browse.

Borrowing

Items may be kept for up to three weeks. Loans may be renewed once by phone — after which items must be returned for inspection before a further renewal may be offered.

One or two items may be borrowed at a time, depending on the bond amount paid. Lost or damaged books will incur a replacement fee.

Library Staff

All library staff are volunteers. Please assist them by returning borrowed items promptly and paying membership fees on time. Their work makes this resource possible.

Reading Room

For the convenience of members and visitors, there is a reading room overlooking Hyde Park — a quiet space for study and reflection, available during all opening hours.

New & Second-Hand

Books for Sale

A small selection of new books is available for purchase from the library. Second-hand books, estate donations, and book collections are gratefully received.

All donations are carefully checked and either added to the library collection or sold as a fundraiser for purchasing new library stock.

  • New titles on Theosophy, philosophy, and comparative religion
  • Second-hand books and donated estate collections
  • Proceeds go directly toward purchasing new library items
  • Book donations gratefully received at the front desk
